We recently published a new journal paper from Applied Acoustics authored by the members of the CAL (Jin Xuan Teh and Yusuke Hioka) with our collaborators. The paper presents a semi-blind source separation (BSS) method tailored for sound source enhancement for audio recording systems mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The results clearly show that semi-blind source separation can enhance speech signal contaminated by loud drone noise, even under -30dB input SNR, showing its practical utility in search and rescue operations. Please have a look at the paper for more details about the study. The link to the paper is https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apacoust.2025.111019.
